How fancy colour is graded
Fancy diamonds are graded on hue (the colour itself), tone (how light or dark) and saturation (strength). Together these give an intensity grade from Faint through Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Intense and Fancy Vivid, plus Fancy Deep and Fancy Dark for darker tones.
Cut matters differently too: radiant, cushion and pear cuts concentrate colour, which is why fancy yellow and pink diamonds are so often cut this way. Tell us the look you want and we will recommend the shape that shows the colour best for your budget.
